Setting: A Dallas, Texas bachelor pad. Late October 2023. Luka Doncic is this close to a triple-double. A frozen pizza is cooling on the coffee table.

Lights up. Rex reclines on his couch, casually watching the Mavs game while mindlessly swiping.

Hinge App (V.O.): Left… Left… Left… She has a tiger in her photo—definitely left.

Rex (half-paying attention): C’mon Hinge. Throw me a bone here.

Suddenly, the room glows with the heavenly light of Kailee’s profile.

Hinge App (V.O.): There she is. Dancer. Opera singer. Brilliant. Moved here from D.C. Like… yesterday.

Rex (intrigued): Wait—she went to school in Virginia? She sings and can do a flawless fouetté turn? This might be the greatest thing that’s happened to me during a Mavs game.

(He swipes right. “It’s a match!” explodes across the screen as Luka sinks a 3-pointer.)

TV Announcer (O.S.): Doncic does it again!

Rex (grinning): So did I.

 • Second Date on a perfect Fall day in Colorado (because why not go big early?)

 • Cozy weekends in Palm Springs and Palm Beach, hand-in-hand in sunshine

 • Late-nights in New York with friends, Broadway and Romantic dinners

 • Baguettes and beach clubs in St. Tropez and Monaco

 • Tacos, tequila, and SPF 50 in Mexico

 • Ruby and Dolly joining the cast — two fluffy, four-legged angels who approved of the match from Day 1 (once snacks were involved)

Scene: February 15, 2025. Rooftop of the Swexan Hotel. The city lights shimmer beneath them.

Kailee (gazing out, expecting brunch): It’s beautiful up here.

Rex (nervously adjusting his jacket): Yeah… it really is. But not as beautiful as—okay hang on— [drops to one knee]

(Cue dramatic gasp. Ruby and Dolly are not present but would definitely be wagging their tails.)

Kailee (through happy tears): YES!
